About the route

The Tour du Mont Blanc circles the highest mountain in Western Europe on high paths and passes. Most hikers walk it anticlockwise from Les Houches in the Chamonix valley: over the Col du Bonhomme to Les Chapieux, across the Col de la Seigne into Italy and down to Courmayeur, along the Italian Val Ferret and over the Grand Col Ferret into Switzerland, then back to France by Champex, Trient and the balcony paths above Chamonix.

This template links the usual stage towns in straight lines. For the real trail over the passes, import the GPX track from your watch or a hiking app. Switch on 3D mountains and tilt the camera so the passes rise in the frame. The Topographic style is preselected.

Tips for your video

  • Mark the three country crossings with flags: France, Italy, Switzerland.
  • A follow camera at zoom 11 to 12 with 55° tilt and 3D mountains looks like a drone flight.
  • Split the trek into scenes, one per country, with the camera flying between them.
