About the route

Island hopping in the Cyclades is a summer classic: frequent ferries connect Piraeus, the port of Athens, with dozens of islands in the Aegean. This route takes the popular chain from Mykonos to Paros and Naxos, the largest of the Cyclades, then to the caldera of Santorini, and ends with the longer crossing to Heraklion on Crete.

Each leg is a ferry, drawn as a dashed, gently curved line across the sea with a wake behind the boat. Add photo prints of each harbour and a stamp on Crete. Sunset is preselected; Satellite shows the islands in their real blue and white.

Tips for your video

  • Pause on Santorini a little longer and add a callout for the caldera sunset.
  • Ferry legs are short: set the line to 12 to 15 seconds so each island gets its moment.
  • Turn on the comet trail so the wake of the route fades behind the boat.
